Depending on the current fishing conditions, we may also depart from other boat launches on Cape Cod, including Orleans. Your departure location will be confirmed the day before your trip. Field & Stream magazine notes that “Cape Cod has become what many saltwater anglers consider the premier striped bass fishing destination in the world.” We certainly agree. What We Catch & How Our specialties include striped bass and blues, Bluefin tuna, and black sea bass. We tend to follow these general rules of thumb for finding fish in season: • Stripers - Mid-May through mid-October • Blues - Mid-June through September • Bluefin Tuna - June through early November (Peak Season is Late Summer & Fall) • Black Sea Bass/Scup - May & Early June (Other Dates by Request If Available) • Sharks (Mostly Blue Sharks) - Mid-July through September • Ground fish (Haddock / Pollock) - Mid-April through May. Other Dates by Request as Available Captain Bobby has an extensive assortment of rods, reels, and tackle equipment. He even makes his own jigs to get just the right size, shape, and color. We are also a member of the RONZ Pro Staff. Casting RONZ soft baits can be just the right trick for large bass and Bluefin tuna. Van Staal is our gear of choice as this company delivers superior cast, high durability, and excellent fight. We also have a selection of jigging rods and reels for those rare occasions during the summer dog days when wire is the key. We welcome all levels of anglers and are more than happy to teach newcomers. Let us know how you prefer to fish! Captain Bobby is a Cape Cod native and long time Truro resident, arguably has salt water running through his veins after spending the majority of his life on local waters. As a young teenager laden down with rods, tackle, and an aluminum skiff his adventures began and his devotion to fishing has continued to grow. Now he has been commercially fishing for over 25 years and has encountered many prosperous fishing ‘holes’ and tricks of the trade through his endless hours spent on the waters from the Billingsgate shoals to Race Point to Martha's Vineyard. Striped bass, black sea bass and bluefin tuna fishing are among his specialties while he also fishes for bluefish, scup, squid, cod, haddock, pollock and sharks. Bobby's love for fishing runs deep and it shows. Stop in any local tackle shop and ask for a reference and you will see at a young age he is rapidly becoming a local legend. Bobby has admitted on several occasions that giving someone the experience of being on the water and catching big fish is more fun than catching them himself. This is what prompted him to obtain his USCG Captain’s license to gain the capability to further share his knowledge of the area and love for fishing. He completed the USCG certified OUPV – Near Coastal course at New England Maritime in the fall of 2000.
