WHAT DO I REQUIRE IN ORDER TO RENT A BOAT? We require a valid driver's license with photo ID, a cellphone number, a major credit card, a completed rental agreement, and be at least 19 years of age. *There is a $2000 damage deposit for each boat.  DO I NEED A BOAT LICENCE TO RENT A BOAT? If you have your Pleasure Craft License, great! Bring it along! If you don't have a license, don't stress. One of our crew members will run you through a boat/safety orientation and provide you with a temporary day license.  CAN WE SMOKE OR DRINK ON THE BOAT? Smoking, drinking, or cannabis use is not permitted on our boats. All laws regarding drinking and driving on the road apply on the water. If a renter is intoxicated at the time of arrival, we reserve the right to withhold services.  ARE THERE RESTROOMS ON THE BOAT? Unfortunately not. Our current fleet selection does not include a restroom option.  ARE THERE ADDITIONAL SERVICES AVAILIBLE? Yes! We offer chauffeur services (your own personal driver) at a price of +$200 per rental. As well, we offer photo/video services upon request at a price of +$200 per rental.  WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF PEOPLE ALLOWED ON A BOAT? We have capped the party limit at a size of 12 people for our current fleet options.  HOW DOES PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF WORK? We use a dry storage moorage option for our fleet. We will get the boat in the water, tie up to the dock, and wait for your scheduled arrival time. We will do a walk through of the boat, as well as a safety briefing, sign you a temporary operating permit if necessary, and send you on your way!   For end of rental pick-up, you will return the boat to the same dock as you left from, we'll do a walk through of the boat, if all is good, you'll receive your damage deposit back and only be charged for the amount of gas that you used!  All rentals will leave from the Cook Road Boat Launch next to the Hotel Eldorado. *Lot parking is available at a rate of $10/day per vehicle.   (Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled booking time to ensure an on time departure. If you are late upon departure or arrival, there is a $50/half hour late fee.   HOW DOES GAS WORK? We send you off every rental with a full tank of gas, and a complimentary bag of ice! You only pay the amount of gas you spent.   For a full day rental, plan to spend anywhere from $80-$220 on gas, give or take depending on how much distance the boat covers. *There are numerous on-lake fuelling options, make yourself familiar with these options before departure.    WHAT HAPPENS IF I RUN INTO TROUBLES ON THE LAKE? If a problem occurs while you are on the water, we will do our best to try to solve the problem from the phone, but if not, Rock The Boat Rentals has connections with a rescue service designed to tow the boat back to shore.   If we discover that the problem has occurred as a result of negligence on the renters part, there is a $300 rescue fee, on-top of any damages the boat has sustained.   Negligence Example: Did not keep track of fuel usage and ran out of gas on the water.   Damage Example: A renter drove the boat in too shallow of water and has broken the prop. This would entail a $300 towing fee, plus a prop replacement fee.   IS THERE SAFETY EQUIPMENT ABOARD? Yes, there is enough lifejackets for everyone aboard to have one, as well as all the Transport Canada required safety equipment for a pleasure craft.   *Please inform us ahead of time if you have children that require a smaller lifejacket.   WHAT IS THE MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD? Our minimum rental period is 4 hours.   Our maximum rental period is 8 hours, although, more hours can be added at a price of +$100/hour if our rental schedule allows for it.   ARE PETS ALLOWED ON THE BOAT? No, currently we are not allowing any pets to be aboard our rental boats.    IS THERE ANY COVID-19 PROTOCOLS? Every rental will be delivered to you freshly cleaned. We currently do not have any COVID-19 protocols in place, but respect everyone's right to protect themselves accordingly.  WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? If in a scenario where the weather does not permit safe boating conditions, or if mechanical issues arise before your rental is scheduled to depart, you will receive a full refund. Please note that we do not allow cancellations due to overcast weather or slightly unfavorable conditions.   - 100% refund with over 72 hours notice. - 50% refund with under 72 hours notice. - No refund within 24 hours of the scheduled rental time. The provided credit card will be charged for the full duration of the rental period that was booked.
