Add a SPARK to Your Special Event with a 65 ft Sailboat Cruise on the Bay

Ahoy and welcome aboard - your adventure awaits!  Let us help you plan an exciting and fun celebration with a large group of friends on a unique, one-of-a-kind sailboat! Just bring the food and drinks and we will do the rest. Introducing the Derek M Baylis! She is a custom 65’ Wyliecat boat that is unique as she is the only one of her kind in the world.  As a high-end sailing vessel she is suitable to meet the requirements of sophisticated events as well all others who just want to celebrate a special day! No engine noise or stinky powerboat pollution as you gently glide along the waters of our amazing bay. She makes a fabulous and unique background for the photos that will seal your special event in memory. Having served the San Francisco bay area for over 6 years, the Derek M. Baylis is a regular on the bay, helping people to celebrate special events like birthdays, new jobs, leaving the bay area parties, as well as weddings, after wedding reception parties, retirements and ash scatterings at sea.  In a nutshell, we offer the following: 2 hour trips can be booked from Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Richmond (East Bay).  If you want to book from San Francisco, you must book a 3 hour trip. Pay for a 4 hour trip and make a lunch or BBQ stop-over on Angel Island this summer. As a large and spacious 65ft vessel, she sails with our own captain and crew (included in the price) and she is documented to carry a lot of people, but we are currently keeping it to 28 guests max.  We are a BYOD and we NEVER CHARGE A CORKING FEE.  Bring your favorite beer, seltzers, white wine, champagne and snacks, and we will do the rest.  Our liquor license does not cover hard liquor such as vodka, rum or tequila, so leave those at home for your after-party.  We will have ice-cold coolers, glasses, cutlery, plates and napkins for your use. If you prefer to kick back and have us do all the work - we can arrange catering for your event for an extra fee. Collect your favorite songs on a playlist on your phone and we will pipe them through the onboard speakers to be heard inside and outside. You and your group can be hands-on, if anyone wants to steer the vessel, we welcome it! We hire friendly and experienced crew, and we believe that crew tips are earned, so give the crew a compliment with an 11-15% tip at the end of your event. Our knowledgeable crew can answer questions about the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, San Francisco, Oakland or any of the other cities around the Bay.  A boarding fee is extra - in Richmond (East Bay) the harbor charges us $100 to use their guest dock.  In San Francisco, we have to pay a city tax and SF Port Authority fee, totalling $275. These fees is not included in the charter fee. We will collect the boarding fees via Paypal closer to your sailing date. As a Coast Guard documented vessel, she is inspected annually to prove that she is still in top shape to comply with the strict US Coast Guard requirements.  She is also a marine science research vessel that is used by marine scientists and educators for deep water research tasks (such as placing tags on great white sharks) which takes her out into the ocean to the islands off the California coast.  So, come aboard and ask about her interesting history - your charter fee helps to make all that possible.    If you have any questions just send us a message!
