Lampedusa, with its seabed lends itself to unique and exciting experiences! The island offers fascinating dives where time seems to stop and fish are the real masters of the seabed, one of these is "The Madonna."   It tells you that about in 1980, a famous underwater photographer (Roberto Merlo), has been the victim of an accident during a dive, the day of the procession of the Madonna di Porto Salvo, the island's patron saint. It was helped promptly by the islanders and saving himself by a miracle decided, as a thank you, to donate the island, in a symbol of protection for all divers and lovers of the sea, a statue of the Madonna and Child (commissioned to the sculptor Giorgio Crosta). Now, at a depth of about 16 meters you can find a "bow", where the foot was placed a bronze statue. Diving is definitely one of the easiest and quiet as well as being shallow, takes place entirely around a rock outcropping seeds. Immerse yourself in this place is always charming and full of magic. Come to Lampedusa and do not dive in La Madonnina, it is like losing a piece of island history.
