1. Weather Cancellations: - Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms, or High Winds: If weather conditions are severe, such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, or high winds, American Marine reserves the right to cancel your reservation and will issue a refund. - Mild Weather Conditions: For less severe weather (e.g., cooler than expected, cloudy skies, or a chance of rain), the rental will proceed as planned, and the customer will be responsible for the rental fee. 2. Cancellations and Changes: - 96-Hour Policy: Cancellations or changes made 96 hours or more before the scheduled pickup will receive a full refund. - Within 96 Hours: Cancellations or changes within 96 hours of the scheduled pickup will incur a $100 cancellation deposit. This deposit can be applied to another rental within the same calendar season. - Holiday Rentals: Higher cancellation deposits apply: $200 for a full-day rental and $300 for a 3-day rental. 3. Late or No-Show: - If the customer is not present or ready to accept the rental at the specified time, American Marine reserves the right to rent the equipment to someone else. 4. Safety and Operating Rules: - Life Jackets: All customers and passengers must wear U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices. Minors 13 years old or younger are required by law to wear life jackets at all times. - Operating Hours: Boating after normal business hours (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) is at the customer's own risk, including responsibility for any damages or emergency services needed. - No Alcohol or Drugs: Operating the boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in forfeiture of the security deposit and cancellation of the rental. 6. Liability and Responsibility: - Customers are responsible for any damage to the boat or equipment, regardless of who operates it. - In case of an accident, customers must report it immediately to American Marine and local law enforcement. - Customers are liable for all costs associated with damages, including repair costs and lost rental revenue. 7. Trailer Use: - If a trailer is included in the rental, the customer must use it responsibly, following all safety and legal requirements. - Proof of insurance is required, and the customer's automobile insurance must cover the trailer. 8. Images and Media: - Customers consent to American Marine taking and using photos or videos of them for promotional purposes. By understanding these key policies, customers can ensure a safe and enjoyable rental experience with American Marine while being aware of their responsibilities and potential liabilities.
