Sumba Magic Superb Waves, fishing, snorkeling, beautiful bays, waterfalls and more! Sumba has it all for the surfer adventurer. Beginning the charter at either of the 2 main port towns of Waikelo or Waingapu allows you to fly directly to the boat with nearest surf spots just a few hours away. Timor-Sawu-Sumba  Searching for empty waves in pristine locations? This is trip to be on! Beginning in Sumba our journey searches stretches of the coast as yet untouched by civilization. What To Expect Onboard: Searching for perfect uncrowded surf has always been part of what we do. We knew from experience that land-based travel just leads to more development and overcrowding of surf locations and so we decided upon a boat to enable us to search those places only a boat can go. Isolated, Beautiful and Wild places Still pristine.. To leave only footprints and take away only memories.. Sola Gracia "The Indo Pacific Voyager" is a beautifully built 23 meter motor launch. Extremely roomy, even with 10 guests and 5 crew on charter there is always spaces to enjoy quiet moments and relax with true freedom. The back transom is a large space for diving and fishing and that leads to the back deck. This is the action station during the day with our 2 surf/dive taxis running all day. Dawn to dusk. This area also has the surfboard racks for 20+ boards and alot of room to move. There is a toilet shower and wash station on the back deck also. The entrance to the interior of the boat is also via the rear deck. As are the stairs to the Huge Top Deck area with seating for 20 people, a massive dinner and party area up top and it is the place to hangout during the days. To rest between surfs and shoot the action. The view of a lineup from our top deck is second to none. Down the stairs again and through the rear door. To the left is our fully appointed kitchen area and our chef is garaunteed to be whipping up a treat or 2 for you. Past the galley the companion way opens out into a massive dining room and lounge room saloon with comfort, space & modern fitout. Forward of the lounge part of the saloon is the wheelhouse were our experienced captain runs the boat and daily crew duties. Downstairs we have bedrooms and another 2 x showers and toilets. • 2 X private family rooms each for 4 persons. • 2 X bunkrooms each sleeping 4 persons. • The interior is fully airconditioned with modern music and entertainment systems. • If there is anything else you need to know about Sola Gracia please contact us. Please read carefully (boring legally required stuff first). Travel Insurance* You must be in possession of valid travel insurance covering the entire period of your trip with us. The insurance must cover surfing, boating and other related activities. It must also provide 'medivac' as the places we travel to are remote and lacking in medical facilities. Passport* You are required to have a valid passport and VISA covering the entire period of the trip. You are also required to bring this with you as Indonesian port authorities may ask to see this. If for some reason you cannot provide your original passport please bring an official letter explaining why along with a photocopy of your passport. Surf Equipment Somewhat on the obvious side but don't forget to bring your boards!!! More specifically, in our experience two boards is enough ... your all-round go-to board and a board for bigger days (you could consider bringing a spare of your all-round board in case it breaks).... Also, please bring spares for other stuff such as fins and leashes and definitely bring surfboard repair equipment. Other equipment (e.g. Fishing, Snorkeling Gear) We have plenty of fishing equipment on the boat but by all means bring your own (can never have enough lures for instance). We also have snorkelling gear and a speargun. We recommend you bring a waterproof bag as this can be really useful when you want to take some belongings to the beach such as camera or phone. Clothing Keep it minimal ... you are on a boat so there is no need to dress up and travelling light is definitely worth it. Shorts, boardshorts, t-shirts, a hoodie and maybe a pair of trousers is enough. Don't forget to bring a towel or two as well! Shoes aren't worn on the boat so you should be fine bringing just a pair of flip-flops/sandal type things ... it might be worth bringing one pair of shoes if we choose to do a jungle excursion. Suncream/Sunblock The sun is very, very hot at times so sunblock is a must. We recommend a zinc-based (or zinc-based-like) product as it offers the best protection for the longest period of time. Stopping a surf to put on more sunblock is a right pain (and often simply forgotten) so it's definitely worth investing in a good product. Chargers/Adaptors We have a lot of different chargers and adapters on the boat but we do recommend you bring your own just in case. Entertainment We have a large television and an extensive collection of movies. We also have a number of books and magazines, cards, and board games. Having said that it's always worth bringing your own films, music and books .. if only to share your great taste with other guests. * Please note that items marked with an asterisk are mandatory and if you do not possess them (and bring them with you where required) then, unfortunately, you risk not being able to come on the trip.
