Most of the sites of Varanasi are located on or near the Ganga. We are able to take you to all those sites including: We can also take you to the Ganga Aarti ceremony on Main Ghat (occurs every night and is a must see). This is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities. Aartis also refer to the songs sung in praise of the deity, when lamps are being offered. When aarti is performed, the performer faces the deity of God (or divine element, e.g. Ganges river) and concentrates on the form of God by looking into the eyes of the deity (it is said that eyes are the windows to the soul) to get immersed. Come to our boats before dusk. We’ll take you first (or after) to Manikarnika to see the cremation pyres in the dark. Children will inevitably come to the boat to sell you offerings for the Ganga. Each floating candle with flowers typically costs 10 rupees. It is an offering for Mother Ganga but you can make a wish as you release it. The best times are to go to our boats at the time of sunrise. Check here for times. At the very least you’ll want to do an early morning boat ride of 1-2 hours and an evening boat ride of 60-90 minutes. We can also arrange all-day excursions that will allow you to explore this magnificent and ancient city in depth. Our pricing is up-front, fair, and honest. We have guides that speak English, French and Japanese. If you have any questions, we can answer those through GetMyBoat’s messaging platform before you pay. Just hit, “Request to Book” and send us an inquiry for a custom offer.
I am excited to be a part of the GetMyBoat movement in making boats more accessible and affordable to others. I hope to get out on the water more and help boating grow.
You’ll get directions to the departure location when you make a booking.
