You will literally and figuratively be transported to a different mental state of relaxation after sailing the Potomac with me. Sailing feeds our soul and the slowness that comes with it is what we are all yearning for, whether we know it or not. Moving through our nation's capital by the power of nature is simply a must activity. that will be remembered for a lifetime. Prices: • 2 hours: $480 • 3 hours: $720 • 3 hours: $960 Sailing on a catamaran is far more relaxing than a monohull because we will not heel, or lean when the wind fills our sails. The boat will stay flat. This means it is far easier to move about the different areas such as the cockpit outside in the rear of the boat, the salon inside which has seating for six, the two seats all the way forward at the front of the boat, or my favorite spot, the trampolines. This is where you may find yourself being lulled to sleep feeling the warmth of the sun and hearing the magical sound of water playing its tune on our hull. I have a Bluetooth sound system on board, but you may find the music of the water lapping at our hull is a better choice. There is a fully equipped galley with three burners and a stove, refrigerator, large cooler and small freezer. There is a generator on board that can power air conditioning or a heater. There are two staterooms on the port or left side of the boat as well as a manual marine head or toilet. There is an outside shower available if you need to cool off as swimming is not allowed. The starboard side or right side, is my home and will be closed off. Bottled water and ice will be provided, and you are welcome to bring any food and beverages with you. You must be 21 in order to consume alcohol. Please bring cans over glass for everything. No smoking anything while on board and no drugs, other than prescriptions, of any kind. I can arrange to pick up food for you from a National Harbor restaurant for an additional fee and plenty of notice. We leave and return out of National Harbor, and I will meet you at the white tent-like structure at the beginning of the pier with the ferris wheel on it at our scheduled cruise time. There are clean bathrooms located just down from Chipotle and attached to the Mariner Garage which will be the most convenient garage for parking. You will want to bring a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and a charged phone with plenty of room for new video and photos. Depending upon weather, traffic and other factors, we may see the gorgeous nature and the impressive Fort Washington and Mount Vernon south of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, or north of the bridge, the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, top of the Capitol, the Pentagon, Air Force Memorial and of course, non-stop activity of DCA. For plane enthusiasts like me, this will simply light you up. The planes when on certain approaches will be seemingly just above our mast. Safety is always the most important factor and will be evaluated before every cruise. Children under the age of thirteen will be required by the US Coast Guard to wear a provided lifejacket the entire cruise. For a discount off of my published price, book a sunrise cruise and receive $100 off! A sunset cruise will incur an additional fee of $100. I am really looking forward to sharing my passion for sailing with you. It is an amazing pleasure for me to see the joy in my passenger's face and hear the relaxation in their voice as we head back to the dock after a magical time on the water.
Sailing with Captain James was a dream!! You will not regret this experience! Not only is he hospitable, he is full of life and passion which only made our trip better. We enjoyed every part of our trip the only sad part was that we didn’t book longer. 100/10 would book with Captain James again!!

If you’re looking for a unique and fun way to celebrate a special occasion, or just want to take advantage of the beautiful weather and get out on the water, this is it! I booked a Sunday afternoon trip with friends to celebrate my 36th birthday and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Captain James was communicative and professional leading up to the trip; he’s a skilled captain and a joy to be around. His catamaran is clean and safe, and equipped with everything you could need, including a sound system and bumpin’ playlist! I will absolutely be booking with him again.

James is a wonderful captain! Our crew had the most amazing time!! The views were so picturesque! It was a chilly, fall morning but absolutely perfect!

Our experience with James was nothing short of incredible! We booked a short rental for our engagement pictures session, and James’ boat was beautiful, immaculate, and incredibly picturesque. James was quick and incredibly safe as well as a very skilled captain who accommodated multiple pick ups/drop offs for our shoot and did everything in his power to get the pictures we wanted. We would recommend him for photography or a nice sailing day - we will definitely be back!

Because safety is paramount, and we have no control over the weather, there will be times when it is necessary to postpone or cancel a cruise all together. We can simply reschedule if this works for you or give you a complete refund if rescheduling is not an option. If you do not show for your cruise there will be no refund. If you are late by a short amount of time I will do my best to extend on the backside if my schedule permits. If my schedule is unavailable then your cruise will be shortened with no refund. It is important for all of our safety that my instructions are followed without question and all US Coast Guard rules are followed at all times.
