With Captain

We offer the region’s only private crewed sailing experience on a classic sailboat plying some of the most beautiful and pristine lakes in the world. Our sailing experiences can be tailored to you interest, be it a learn to sail lesson where you can master the basics of harnessing mother nature to move you swiftly and quietly across the water, or kick back and relax while our experienced captain sails you past some of the best views in the North Country.  We can accommodate up to four guests at our on our O'Day 23 day cruiser, which will be sailing on Saranac Lake.  Sailing is a great family experience and we welcome youths ages 6 and older that have completed the first grade or equivalent. Access to our boat is via a short dinghy ride from the dock to the boat. There is a two foot step up from the dinghy to the deck of the boat. You are welcome to bring your beverage of choice, sandwiches and other snacks that you may want for your cruise. On board we have ice, a cooler, bottled water, light snacks and a porta-potty.  Let us craft a sailing experience to add fun and excitement to your visit to the Adirondacks. Additional Terms & Information

Know Before You Book /Go What happens if it's “Blowin’ Stink”? (or raining or lightning or just ain’t no wind?) We reserve the right to determine if the weather will prevent sailing on any given day. A full refund or rescheduling will be made in the event we cannot sail due to weather conditions. Cloudy conditions, light winds or scattered rain showers will not result in a refund or a rescheduling. Weather in the Adirondacks can be fickle so we do not depend entirely on the weather forecast and we will not cancel a cruise based solely on the forecast.  We will not cancel or reschedule prior to one hour before our scheduled departure.  All that being said, it is always best to plan for a little foul weather so bring a rain jacket or wind breaker and wear non cotton clothes that will dry quickly if they get wet. What about cancellations? Cancellations made 72 hours or more prior to a trip will be refunded 100%. Cancellations or changes made less than 72 hours before a trip and no shows will not receive any refund. Cancellations will be confirmed by email by our company.  Trips which our company cancels due to weather that cannot be rescheduled will be refunded 100%. If unexpected heavy rain or winds cause our company to terminate a sail early (within the first half of your time), a 50% refund will be offered OR your sail can be rescheduled for no fee. If our company terminates a sail during the last half of your time, your fee will be prorated. Are food and drinks allowed? Yes!  You are welcome to bring your favorite beverages, snacks, or picnic goodies with you on your cruise. There will be a cooler on board with complimentary water and ice. There are no cooking facilities.   Do you have any age restrictions? Children age 6 and older are welcome to join your crew.  The boat is equipped with Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices (PFDs) for adults and children. Children under 12 must wear life jackets at all times.  What about....well you know? There is a porta-potty on board. Do I need any special clothing for sailing? Most people have all the necessary clothing in their wardrobe. A windbreaker, fleece and non-cotton clothing is best for sailing. Also bring sun hat, and sun screen. DON'T BRINGS: Please do not wear flip flops. We recommend some type of non-marking boat shoe or a sneaker with light-soles which will not scuff up the boat. Please do not bring spray sunscreen (or apply prior to boarding).  Do you allow pets on board? Sorry no pets or animals on board.
