There's a lot more than fishing going on...  One thing is for sure - expect the unexpected. Be ready to learn, to wonder and to be out of range of the Google machine. From a Manatee to a Spoonbill, and from a Mola Mola (giant ocean sunfish) to a little barn swallow in need of a ride to land, you really never know. Add to that shrimp boats, sail boats and even the largest container ships to ply the oceans, and there's never a lack of sights to see. One certainty - you'll be surrounded by expansive, inspiring beauty. Touring and Cruising - what do you want it to be? Wildlife? Check. History? Check. Tunes and sunshine? Scattering Grandpa on the high-seas?  Check. There's an incredible amount to see in the Charleston area. We've been cruising and exploring for years now, and continue to see new things every time we're out. Charleston has layers upon layers of history, and we can see and talk about everything from Revolutionary War era forts to the Civil War and from the history and future of the Port of Charleston to the Charleston skyline. If it's nature you're after, we've got you covered. Islands loaded with birds and dolphin cruising the area are common. Less common are alligators and raptors. Downright uncommon and amazing are huge sea turtles and even a giant ocean sunfish or a manatee. We never quite know what we'll find, but promise that cruising between marshes with a view from the tower of the boat is something not to be missed. Ready to just kick back, fire up some tunes and crack the beverages that y'all brought with you? Catch some rays, and maybe an amazing sunset. It'll be among the most memorable things you do in Charleston. Charters - Fishing The ocean is big. Really, really big. You never quite know what might jump on your hook, but we'll always have a plan based on season, weather and your interests. Some days that plan calls for running a couple of hours to deep water to troll and staying on it all day after mahi, tuna, king mackerel or even billfish. Other days call for finding active bottom and hunting sea bass, snapper and grouper. Others, my personal favorite, combine the two. Throw in a cobia or a shark now and again and it's always interesting. Just remember, try as we may, it's still called "fishing", not "catching". We'll also decide early what you may wish to take home.  Billfish and sharks, we'll release to catch again another day and to keep our ecosystems healthy. What you wish to keep, we'll be happy to clean and bag for you, and even offer some suggestions on how to prepare if you'd like. Captain Aaron, USCG Licensed Captain and owner of the company Aaron grew up on and around the waters of New England and the Great Lakes. From racing sailboats to dropping a line wherever he could, the water was always his happy place. Life, however, often intercedes. 9 years as a commissioned officer in the US Navy even sent him only to the desert, never to sea. Never one to give up, in 2019 he finally moved back to the coast. In 2021, he found the company down in Key West and the adventure really began. Renting a car one way, he and a great first mate sailed her home to Charleston. Then the real work started, refurbishing and improving her step by step. Captain Aaron is a lifelong student and, well, a nerd. He loves to learn about his boat, about Charleston, about targeted fish and everything in between. He loves to share. He'll chat about everything from the economics and history of the Port of Charleston to the importance of keystone species to the health of our marine environment. Don't forget cooking and breweries, too.

Additional Terms & Information

FAQ's Licenses - your fishing license is part of the package - we've gotcha covered. Gear - your gear - gotcha covered there, too. If you really would like to use your own, that's cool, too! Clothing. Weather and conditions can be highly variable. Think layers, and not cotton. Food. Y'all may get hungry, or y'all may be too busy having fun. You do you - we have plenty of cooler space. Beverages. Water and soft drinks provided. Adult beverages (NO GLASS) are not. Captain reserves the right to limit adult beverage consumption. Fishies. We are happy to clean and bag your catch for you. We'll even try to find a restaurant to cook it for you, but that tends to be highly variable. Tunes. Bring a bluetooth-capable (and downloaded) playlist - happy to crank it up! Sunscreen. Highly, highly recommended, but NO spray-products. They make for an extremely slippery and hazardous deck. Financial Details Mates work exclusively for tips - keep that in mind as they work extremely hard to make sure your trip is a great one. A cash 15-20% tip based on the amount of the whole trip is customary. Booking Deposit. A $500 deposit is required for all fishing bookings. A $200 deposit is required for all tours. Payment. Payment in full is due before we leave the dock. Weather. In the event that weather cancels a trip, the trip may be re-booked at no additional cost. If the trip cannot be re-booked, the deposit will be refunded, less any costs incurred based on payment method. Cancellation. If the booking is cancelled at the option of the participant, the deposit will be retained and the participant has up to one calendar year to re-book and apply the deposit. If the trip is not re-booked within that year, the deposit is forfeited.  Acts of Neptune (or other Gods). Things happen. Boats can break. If the Captain is forced for any reason to cancel a trip, he will first refund 100% of the deposit, and then assist you in re-booking with another boat, should you so choose. Doing so neither incurs nor assumes any liability for the Captain or the company Weather-shortened-trips. Once we leave the dock, the trip is fully committed. Should participants choose to shorten a trip for any reason, no refunds, pro-rated or otherwise, are given. Misuse or abuse of the boat or provided gear and equipment will result in replacement or repair charges to the trip participants. Trip Details Safety is first and foremost. What the Captain and Mates says, goes. Full-stop. White soled shoes, boat shoes or bare feet only. Seriously. Dark soles make a hard-to-clean mess. No bottles. There's an awesome selection of canned beverages these days, so there's no reason to have glass clanking around onboard. Liability Waiver.  Please see the PDF at the button on this page for the required waiver. All participants are required to have a signed waiver before leaving the dock. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Seasickness. If a participant is prone to seasickness, we strongly encourage them to take one dose of their chosen medication the NIGHT BEFORE the trip and another at the time of departure. See #6 under Financial Details for trips that are shortened by seasickness.
