Fishing Activities: • Boat fishing - Bottoms (All year round): We depart from Swakopmund Mole at 8.30 am. Fishing takes place from 100 m up to 800 m off shore and + 20 km either north or south of Swakopmund. The most common fish to catch is kabeljou, black tail, steenbras, catfish and a variety of shark species. Bottom fish are caught with bait such as sardine, mussels, ect, in depths of 2m water up to 15m very close to reefs. This tour includes a lunch pack, a cool box with beer, soft drinks and water. All bait and tackle will be supplied. The fish you catch are yours to keep, but sharks will be released. Lines up approximately 15.00 weather permitting. • Deep sea fishing - Game (In season: Oct - Jan): We depart from Swakopmund Mole between 7.30 and 8.30 am. Fishing takes place at + 25 km off shore and approximately 100 m depths of water. The most common fish to catch is snoek, yellow tail, mackerel and blue shark. Game fish are caught with artificial lures while slow trawling. Snoek sizes differs between 3 kg up to 6 kg average. This tour includes a lunch pack, a coolbox with beer, soft drinks and water. All tackle and bait (artificial lures) will be supplied. The fish you catch are yours to keep. Lines up approximately 14.00 weather permitting. • Beach Fishing (All year round): We depart from Swakopmund at 8.30 am. Fishing takes place from shore and distance can differs from 8km up to 120km along the coast. We use 4X4 vehicles to transport the anglers. The most common fish to catch is kabeljou, black tail, steenbras, galjoen, catfish and a variety of shark species especially copper shark that can reach a weight up to 180 kg. This tour includes a lunch pack, coolbox with beer, soft drinks and water. All tackle and bait will be supplied. The fish you catch is yours to keep, but as with bottom fishing, sharks will be released. Lines up approximately 16.00. On request a fish barbecue can be arranged at an extra cost.
