You can but we do not recommend it, since security has been tightened at all airports worldwide we do not recommend you try to take edible fish back to the US first the airlines no longer accept styrofoam ice chest and securing dry ice in Cancun will cost you more time and effort than it is worth.In addition you will have delays upon your arrival in the US while your baggage is checked. What happens to the fish we catch? All Sailfish and marlin caught are released unless you want to mount them. Then we bring them in and they will be sent away for mounting. Other species of fish are put in the cooler and brought to the Marina. One fun way to end a day of fishing is to eat your fresh catch. The Marina has the option of cooking the fish for you and your friends and/or family or you can take your catch to your hotel restaurant and have it for that evening’s dinner. We also recommend that you have the restaurant prepare you catch 3 different ways. Then you decide which is your favorite. By the way, your meal will cost about $10-$12 USD per person with side dishes when you bring the fish. Should i tip at the end of the fishing trip? Tip is given if the crew did a good job for you. Do you catch and release? Game fish like sailfish and marlin are released. If you want to mount a fish, then those fish are brought in so we can send them off to be mounted. Other species like Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda and Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) are brought to the Marina to be consumed. How is the time calculated on a 4,6,8 hour trip? The hours of your fishing trip are calculated from "dock to dock" in other words, a 4 hour trip is "4 hours from the time you leave the dock until you return the dock" same for the 6 and 8 hour trip. Travel time to the fishing grounds is part of your trip time. We want to catch sailfish or marlin, what do you recommend? First, look at the fishing calendar and come when the sailfish or marlins are here. Second, charter the boat for at least 6 hrs or even take an 8 hr charter; you will enhance your chances. Third, tell the captain at check in that your main interest is big fish. Does the boat include safety equipment? Each boat comes with a First Aid kit and life vests for each passenger on board. Also each boat includes Rescue equipment, example: Radio, flare, and Ring lifesavers. Do I need to bring more beer and liquor? The price includes only 3 beers per person. It is not an “Open Bar.” Also liquor is not included but you are welcomed to bring it. The price also includes 2 bottles of water and 2 sodas per person. If you want more beer we recommend you bring it with you or request it, you can get as many as you want for an extra fee. The transportation from the Marina will not stop for beer and/or sandwiches so we recommend you to have it upon pick up. Do I need to bring food? Food is not provided on any of the fishing trips. We recommend that if you want food request a box lunch at the time you make your reservation. Do the boats have a bathroom on board? Yes. All our boats do.
