Enjoy Augustów, Poland by boat! Charter a pontoon boat for up to 12 people. Rates as low as 440 PLN per hour. The route of the cruise through the Rospuda Valley: You will start your adventure with exceptional values of Augustów nature on the Netta River , along which in the urban section from Żegluga to Lake Necko there are picturesque boulevards, ideal for walking and cycling. The river is also famous for the Polish championships in water skiing and the annual event. Swimming on anything - peacefully, the ship Jaćwież does not belong to this category. After a short cruise, you'll find Netta on Lake Necko , whose name comes from the Yotvingian word "methis" meaning "throw". The shoreline of the lake is mostly overgrown with forest, with numerous sandy beaches and bathing beaches. Necko, a perfect place for lovers of all kinds of water sports (there is a water ski lift here), also abounds in many species of fish (including pike, perch, eel, catfish, roach, bream), making it a real a paradise for anglers. If you are not an advocate of wetting the stick, you may be interested in numerous seasonal outdoor events, including Culinary Great Cooking Regatta , or Water Star Slalom with Three . The next reservoir on the route will be Lake Rospuda (Rospuda Augustowska), which in terms of the number of resorts is the opposite of Necka. Certainly, the most famous place on the lake is the Goła Zośka peninsula, whose quite intriguing name is explained by one of the local legends. Apparently, the daughter of a local forester, in love with a tsarist officer, was hanged on this peninsula for spying on the Napoleonic army for the benefit of the Russians. Defeating the violent turns and stony shoals of the Rospuda river , after some time you will see how the riverbed widens, creating a bogged basin occupied by peat bogs - so-called. Rospuda Valley. This is one of the most valuable peat bog areas with natural, intact water relations. Translating this into a more accessible language, the bog maintains a constant water level here, so it does not overgrow with trees and shrubs. The Rospuda Valley is protected due to the occurrence of rare species of animals and plants, including the only in Poland position of the Herminium monorchis, a plant registered in the Polish Red Book of Plants. If you are lucky, you will hear the cry of a white-tailed eagle or crane, and perhaps even see a wolf or a deer for whom the Rospuda Valley is a migration corridor - this way they move from the Augustów Forest and the Biebrza National Park to the west.
