Our 1 Day trek is designed to give you a brief taster of what the jungle has to offer. The package includes 6-7 hours trekking, lunch and traditional ’jungle style’ rafting back to your guesthouse. Ideal for those who only have a day to spend in Bukit Lawang and want to experience trekking and tubing. Guaranteed to leave you wanting more.

Itinerary

After breakfast, your guide will collect you at 8.30am from your guesthouse and you will start your journey into the jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park to see wild orangutans. On your trek (6-7 hours), your guide will educate you on the local wildlife, flora and fauna you may encounter in Gunung Leuser. After lunch, you will continue your trek to see other wildlife (if you’re lucky you may see the Thomas’ leaf monkey, white-handed gibbon, black gibbon, long-tailed macaque, pig-tailed macaque, hornbills, peacocks and monitor lizards) and learn about the trees/plants which can be used in traditional medicine.

Late afternoon-on arrival at camp, you are free to enjoy the fresh water of the Bohorok river, swim and relax. Later on, you will leave the campsite by traditional rafting boat (‘jungle style’) following the river downstream to the village and directly to your guesthouse.

Wildlife Tour in Bukit lawang (1 Day Jungle Trekking With Rafting Back).

If you’re looking for something more challenging, then rafting on the Wampu River is for you.

You begin your rafting tour in the small village of Marike in Langkat, about an hours drive from Bukit Lawang. Along the way, you will visit hot springs on the riverbank, only accessible by boat, as well as a cascading waterfall where you will have time to swim and relax. This is a full day tour including lunch, time spent at the attractions, and 4-5 hours rafting along 30 kms of river with more challenging rapids.

Included

Guide and assistant fee, transport back to Bukit Lawang, BBQ lunch, fruit salad, 1.5 bottle of water and rental equipment (helmet, paddle, life jacket).
