Stand Up Paddle is an easy sport to learn even if you have never done so before. Our school has at its disposal different types of boards for rental with a lot of stability and performance to be used by all kinds of users, since the one that want to start and also to venture into the waves or even those who want to explore the Mira River for a good distance.

Our rentals can go from 1 hour to all day and our Instructors will be able to give you tips on the best places to explore the wild life, landscapes, where to paddle in calm waters or even the best place to try some waves.

Rental of Stand UP Paddle Boards

Our company (SWSUP) is dedicated to the practice and teaching of Stand Up Paddle and Wing Foil in the Vila Nova de Milfontes area since 2017 and we are certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation .






In our SUP tour, we left Franquia beach in front of our school and we paddle up the Mira River to Moinho da Aseira. At the mill, we take a short break at the pier to drink water, rest a little and even take a swim.

After the break, we returned to the water to go down the river to the beach to the place of departure.

During the course, practitioners will be able to observe several species of birds and fish in this region.

(2 hours) approx. 7 km of distance

Weather-morning or afternoon depending on the tides.

Includes: Board, Paddle, Life Jacket, follow up by Certified Instructors and Insurance

This activity does not require any experience before and is accessible to all ages from 8 to 80 years.

Tours

Wing foil is the art of walking on water using a board with a foil and an inflatable wing, which is directed with the hands. With the help of the wind, the practitioner gains speed and the foil, mounted under the board, lifts the set out of the water, giving the athlete the feeling that he is “flying” over the water.

Our wing foil classes are given to only one person at a time and their content is dependent on the practitioner’s knowledge and training and weather conditions (if there is wind). Usually in the first class the practitioner learns some theoretical concepts, namely wind and equipment use. There is a practice of mastering the wing, on the beach and, if the conditions allow it and the instructor considers that the practitioner is prepared, he can have a little experience with the wing on a SUP board.

Price:

- €70 per hour, 2-hours minimum booking

Initiation to wing foil:

- Knowing how to assemble and disassemble the Wing and the Foil;
- Having the main notions of safety rules, how the wind works, aerodynamics;
- Meteorology and its characteristics and conditions;
- Initiation to the foil board with a lot of fluctuation;
- Knowing how to position the body and the board for the first starts;
- Learning to sail with the wing on a board without foil
- Learn to sail with hydrofoil and wing.
- Know the navigation rules and priorities inside and outside the water;
- First edges in both directions initiate the first directional turns;
- Knowing the Safety Rules when using a foil board, knowing how to avoid accidents in and out of the water;
- Knowing how to choose the ideal equipment and conditions for sailing.

- All material, monitoring by the instructor, and accident insurance for participants.
