Our captain is a recreational sailor and racer with over 45 years experience, beginning with sailing lessons as a child, and many formative years sailing on his family's 37' canoe stern yawl Pintail on Lake Ontario. Our captain was a competitive dinghy racer in Snipe and Albacore classes through his teenage years. He worked as a waterfront instructor (sailing and paddling) at a YMCA camp in Georgian Bay, Ontario. He bought his first keel boat in 1981, an I-20, and raced and cruised this boat from Halifax. In 1988, He acquired a traditional gaff-rigged Cape Cod Catboat (Ted Brewer design) which he owned for 14 years and cruised the Nova Scotia coast. In 2002, He acquired Misty Cat, a very modern version of the traditional catboat. Our captain brings his sailing experience and love of history, nature, art and music to the forefront as an interpretive guide and captain for the company.
