Visit the Kom Monastery, located on a small island where the Crnojević River meets Lake Skadar. It was built between 1415-1427. The oldest frescoes date back to the second half of the XV century that connects with Albania, and it is possible to perceive their mountains. The main and additional attraction of this three-hour excursion is a visit to one of the most beautiful monasteries, called Kom. Follow us to experience a cruise along the scenic waters of Skadar Lake. Watch the different species of birds and listen to sounds of nature along the way to the Kom Monastery. Passing through small canals and through fields of water lilies, we arrive on a small island. At the top of this island is the Kom monastery. We get off the boat to visit this medieval monastery, which is a 15-minute walk away. On arrival, there's a charming terrace where you can take some great photos and enjoy the incredible panoramic view over Lake Skadar. Take time to enjoy the view on the surroundings mountains. The monastery was built by the king Ivan Crnojevic in the 15th century. It is dedicated to the mother of Christ. The monastery is also home to some of the best-preserved frescoes in the area. On the way back, you can stop for a swim in the middle of the lake if you want to experience it. It's an option that lets you feel in touch with nature. We finish the boat trip by joining the small channel of the river Crmnica to return to the fishing village of Virpazar.
