Jet Ski Rental Terms and Conditions Thank you for choosing to rent our 2023 Sea-Doo GTX 130 Pro Jet Skis! For a safe and enjoyable experience, please carefully review the following rental terms and policies. 1. Age and Licensing Requirements - All renters must be 18 years or older and hold a valid U.S. driver’s license. - Operators must be at least 16 years old with a valid ID. - Children 6 years or older may ride as passengers, but under no circumstances may anyone under 16 operate the jet ski. 2. Safety Rules for Jet Ski Operation To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, all renters must follow these rules while using the jet ski: - No intoxicants: Renters and passengers must not consume or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while operating the jet ski. - Follow waterway rules: Obey posted speed limits, maintain a safe distance from other vessels (50 feet as required by South Carolina law), and adhere to all local waterway regulations. - Avoid collisions: Stay clear of other boats, docks, and swimmers. Do not attempt to board other vessels from the jet ski, and never tie off to another boat. Do not jump other vessels' wake closer than 200 ft. - No refueling: Do not refuel the jet ski during the rental period, except in an emergency, and only at an approved fueling station. - No towing: Tubing or skiing behind the jet ski is strictly prohibited. 3. Liability for Damages The Renter agrees to return the jet ski in the same condition it was rented. Any damages or lost equipment will be the financial responsibility of the Renter. Below are examples of common repair costs: - Impeller/Jet Pump: $1,000 - Torn Seats: $500 per seat - Glove Box Cover: $100 - Total Loss (Totaled Jet Ski): $15,000 - Fiberglass Repair: $100 per square inch - Cracked Hull: $3,000 - Lost Key: $150 Note: These are just some of the possible charges, and any other damage will be assessed accordingly. 4. Reservation Policy - Full payment is required at the time of booking. - Cancellations or changes must be made at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund. Cancellations within 24-48 hours will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows will not receive a refund. 5. Weather Policy - We cannot control the weather, and light rain or cloudy skies do not qualify for cancellation. - However, if weather conditions make jet skiing unsafe (e.g., thunderstorms, high winds, etc.), we will reschedule your rental or offer a refund. - Our team will contact you if conditions are deemed unsafe. 6. Late Return Policy If the jet ski is returned late, a fee of $2 per minute will be charged. Make sure to plan ahead and call if you suspect you may return late. Unfortunately, lost time due to being lost on the water or similar issues will still result in late fees. 7. Damage Deposit A damage deposit is required before the rental. If no damage occurs, the deposit will be returned in full. If damage is found, it will be deducted from the deposit, and any additional charges will be billed to the Renter. 8. Acknowledgements By signing this agreement, the Renter acknowledges: - They have the necessary skills and physical ability to operate the jet ski safely. - They assume all risks associated with jet ski use, including potential accidents, injury, and property damage. - They agree to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times and ensure any passengers do the same. - The Renter is financially responsible for any damage caused during the rental period. Important Safety Reminders Operating a jet ski can be risky. By signing, you accept full responsibility for your safety and the safety of your passengers. Risks include: - Changing water conditions and currents - Collisions with boats, docks, or natural objects - Weather extremes (heat, cold, rain, wind) - Wildlife encounters (marine animals) Assumption of Risk The Renter understands that operating a jet ski involves certain risks, and by signing this agreement, they assume all risks of injury, damage, or loss, including risks caused by other boaters or weather conditions.
