With Captain
Experience wonderful, relaxed Sailing aboard a beautiful large (52') sailboat on Lake Pontchartrain with a Coast Guard licensed Captain. We are located on the Tchefuncte River, about an hour drive from New Orleans on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Day and or Sunset sails on the lake or River cruises on the lovely Tchefuncte River are available. $330 for a 3 hr cruise, with up to six guests. The boat has a large sun protected cockpit, comfortable cushioned seating and plenty of room for sunbathing. Also an electric toilet facility and coolers/refrigeration is available, along with a Bluetooth enabled sound system. Water, soft drinks and light snacks are provided. We are located on the Tchefuncte River in Marina Del Ray in Madisonville Louisiana, about a 15 minute boat trip from the entrance to the Lake. Your trip will be hosted by Captain Jim - 30+ years of sailing experience. Relax and sun on cushioned chairs at the bow or enjoy the shade and shelter of our covered cockpit. The fabulous wood paneled cabin is also available to you for food preparation or as an alternate spot to kick back and enjoy the big yacht ambiance. Your charter will start at Marina Del Ray in Madisonville, proceed down the Tchefuncte River and enter Lake Pontchartrain by the historic Madisonville light house. Smooth sailing on a sunny afternoon; nothing but a balloon sail to cast you away along the beautiful Lake Pontchatrain coast way! Captain Jim provides a wonderful staycation that can’t be beat right here on the Northshore. His sailboat is a great way to go. Sailing on the lake at sunset in the moonlight is great for a fun relaxing afternoon.

Jim was an amazing captain, the weather was on our side, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our wedding night! He had snacks, water, chips, Gatorade, wine glasses, speakers, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, chairs for us to sit in ! It was an a amazing experience!

My friends and I felt like we were sailing on the French Riviera. Best birthday ever aboard Captain Jim’s stunning sailboat with 5 friends. Captain Jim was delightful and so hospitable, letting us go for a dip during our 3 hour tour. A+ snack selection. Loved that he had such a good speaker set up and comfy seating. It was such a memorable experience, I hope to sail with him again! Would recommend to any and all, it’s an absolute must!!!

We had an amazing trip with Captain James. He had amazing stories to tell of his sailing racing/experiences. We went for a sunset sail on a day that the weather was on and off again rain showers. James made sure to maneuver around the storms so we actually never were rained on. He had complete control of the situation, a very experienced sailor. Both sails were raised and engine off for most of our trip. Truly a Rememberable adventure for all. Will go again in the future and will highly recommend to friends and family. Thanks so much for the beautiful sail.
