Two Rivers Day - River Tay and River Tummel River Tay white water rafting trips are a great way to experience the thrills of rafting on the famous River Tay with Splash! Starting from our base in Aberfeldy, your half-day rafting trip includes all equipment, transport on and off the river, experienced raft guides on each raft, a trip leader on each trip and an operations manager on dry land. We also include free professional photography with every trip so everyone goes away with lots of photos of their white water rafting adventure. The river has numerous rapids between Grades 2 and 3 that are fun, bouncy and challenging. The half-day River Tay rafting trip is about six miles in distance, and starts from the old market town of Aberfeldy. Here the river winds lazily along the Tay valley, through rolling hills and stunning scenery. This is an area with a diverse wildlife, which is best seen from the river. The paddle crew has ample opportunity to practice their newly learnt rafting skills with a variety of fun and challenging games before the river drops away and creates challenging rapids that flow down to Grandtully. The River Tummel is like no other in Scotland. The rafting experience will get you working together with our guide. You need to guide the raft from the beautiful deep pools, down through technical rapids such as 'Zig-Zag' and 'Sharks Tooth'. The main part of the trip is Grade II/III. This prepares you for the final ‘piece de la resistance’: a two-tier, 18 foot drop (Grade IV) rapid. This drops into the mystical Loch Faskally where we float away from the falls towards home reflecting on the rivers power and beauty. World wandering nomad having annoyed the residents of over 100 countries. Started the adventure journey way back in the late 70’s when he started wandering across the Scottish mountains as a kid. The army provided a decade and a half of adventure and development before taking a 6-year journey as a corporate suit to learn about the World of business. Being a slow learner this should have only been a couple of years but Pete got lost. He eventually found the route back to full-time adventure in 2003 when the opportunity to take over the Rafting company came along. Since then our company has expanded not just in Scotland but around the World with operations in Spain, Morocco and Pete’s current passion, the Rafting company where he gets folk as crazy as him to take on extreme challenges to cross deserts, countries and rather large mountain ranges. Peter is the owner of the company.
