The Danube Delta, is declared a UNESCO World Heritage site is the best preserved on the continent. The greater part of the Danube Delta lies in Romania (Tulcea County), while its northern part, on the left bank of the Chilia arm, is situated in Ukraine (Odessa Oblast). Its approximate surface area is 4,152 km2 (1,603 sq mi), of which 3,446 km2 (1,331 sq mi) is in Romania.

You will be able to see many birds as there are over 320 species of birds found in the delta during summer, of which 166 are hatching species and 159 are migratory.

Among the mammals, there is the otter (Lutra lutra), mink (Mustela lutreola), little ermine (Mustela erminea aestiva), wild boar (Sus scrofa), and wild cat (Felis silvestris), in winter the hare (Lepus europaeus) and, on the brink of disappearing from the delta, the wolf and the fox.

What You Can Expect:

We organize daily tours (group tours) departing from Tulcea, from our well mantained pontoon between 09:00-10:00. When organizing groups (April-September) we offer price per person.

The 4 – 5 hours trip on the route: Tulcea – channel Tulcea – channel Mile 36 – channel Sireasa – Lake with birds – Sireasa de Nord or we reach the area of Lake Nebunu and return the same way.

The 6- 7 hours trip on the route1: Tulcea – channel Tulcea – channel Mile 36 – channel Sireasa – near lake Nebunu – channel Sontea Noua – the area of lake Pintilie, comming back channel Sireasa of North, the area of Lake cu Cotete, channel Trofilca, channel Mile 36 – Tulcea. Route 2: Tulcea – channel Tulcea – channel Mile 36 – channel Sireasa – near lake Nebunu – channel Sontea – Cot Candura – channel Sontea Noua – behind Lake Nebunu exiting at „Scaunele” – channel Sireasa – channel Mile 36 – channel Tulcea – Tulcea. On this trip we also offer a traditional meal of fish near a fisherman’s home!
