On the Belle Isle Breeze, passengers aboard the Sycorax—the exclusive fully electric boat cruise provider in Southeast Michigan—will relax in comfort and style for a 75-minute cruise around Belle Isle, one of the most popular urban parks in the U.S. Other sights include the beautiful Windsor waterfront, tranquil Peche Island, Lake Saint Clair, and the historic mansions bordering the Detroit riverfront. This reservation is for the entire boat and accommodates up to six guests. All cruises include a captain and first mate to ensure impeccable service and provide insider knowledge on Belle Isle and one of the world's busiest waterways. The cutting-edge Sycorax features booth-style seating with a teak table in the stern, ample bow seating, an award-winning sound system, fridge, ice, and a private head. A complimentary glass of champagne or beer and a deluxe snack basket are included. Guests are welcome to bring any additional food or beverages on board. The Belle Isle Breeze is perfect for adults and children alike, as well as tourists and veteran Detroiters. Cruises depart from Stanton Yards near downtown Detroit. Our approach aboard the Sycorax: we deliver all of the joy of pleasure cruising and none of the guilt. We’re here to celebrate you — a birthday, a bachelor/ette party, an anniversary or engagement, or just a relaxing summer day on the water — while doing no harm to Mother Nature. No polluting gas fumes. No noisy motor. Just you and the majesty of the Great Lakes. Gas-powered boats are bad — like, really bad — for the environment. Did you know that a five-hour cruise on a standard yacht burns as much gas as a car would consume driving from New York to L.A.? By choosing an electric cruise, you’re eliminating all that environmental waste. That’s the equivalent of planting three trees per two-hour cruise aboard the Sycorax. And we’ve taken the guesswork out of booking a private boat charter. Our No-BS promise to you: one price only. Unlike most charters, we bill no fuel surcharge, no captain’s fee or insurance, no separate taxes, and we accept no gratuities. One and done. Our dock, Stanton Yards, is conveniently located near downtown Detroit directly across from Belle Isle. We provide: - U.S. Coast Guard-certified captain - Complimentary glass of champagne - Selection of nonalcoholic beverages - Coolers, ice, cups, and openers for additional beverages - WiFi - Life jackets - Private portajohn on board - Eco-friendly sunscreen - Dry bags for storage - First aid kit Boat rules: - Sorry, no pets - No glassware - No fishing - Soft-soled shoes or barefoot, please - Infants must have their own life vest
Captain Blair and First Mate Allie have picnicked by crystal quiet lakes in the Swiss Alps, spelunked the world’s deepest caves in Vietnam, and lived in Tokyo. They’re passionate about music, especially techno & house. Their best dishes are savory lamb popsicles with duck fat fingerlings (Allie) and lamb bolognese over hand-rolled squid ink pappardelle (Blair). Allie has made seven-minute brownies in six and a half minutes. Occasionally, they’ve been known to break the laws of physics. In their 13 years together, there have been no dull moments. Captain Blair holds* the U.S. Coast Guard OUPV (six-pack) captain’s certification; he’s been sailing since a teenager. First Mate Allie is certified in first aid and adult CPR. Both are avid swimmers, divers, snorkelers, sailors, and all-around water babies.
