Gas Policy The customer is responsible for gas. The boat is provided with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Failure to do so will result in charges for the used gas and a convenience fee for refueling.  No Show Bookings If a renter fails to show up for their reservation, they are liable for the full reservation amount.  Cancellation Policy Cancellation without a 7-day notice results in forfeiture of the deposit. Cancellation with less than 3-day notice requires payment of the full rental amount. Cancellations due to inclement weather allow the deposit to be applied to an alternate date. With special consideration of circumstances, the owner may provide more leniency regarding the cancellation policy.  Late Return Fee If the renter needs to change the scheduled return time, they should communicate with the owner immediately. If arrangements are available, additional fees will be charged at a prorated amount based on the term of the original rental. However, if the boat is not returned at the scheduled time without prior notice and confirmation of arrangements, a fee of $200 per hour will be charged. Additionally, if the late return prevents another scheduled rental, a full day rental fee will apply.  Weather and Safety Considerations The boat owner will determine if travel is safe during inclement weather, and rentals may be rescheduled accordingly. The owner will base all weather decisions on local weather advisories and harbor master recommendations.  Operating Under the Influence In the event that the boat operator is identified as being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the rental agreement will be terminated immediately, and the vessel will be impounded. The operator and all passengers will be required to disembark, and the operator will be responsible for any towing fees incurred. Additionally, the operator may be subject to a fine of up to $5000 by local authorities. Damage Responsibility Any damages to the boat will be the responsibility of the renter and will be charged accordingly. All damage costs will be assessed by local boat professionals for costs of repair in addition to labor hours. If the damages result in the boat being inoperable for rental, the renter will be charged for the loss of rental income in addition to repair costs.
