Booked Eric for a Saturday afternoon with the family for my wife birthday and couldn’t have gone any better. Eric is not only incredibly hospitable but super knowledgeable about the NY harbor, NYC architecture and history. Would recommend over and over and plan on booking again in the near future.

Eric is awesome. 100% would recommend taking an experience on his sailboat. He was very friendly, chill and cooperative. I wanted to propose my girlfriend on his sailboat and he went extra mile to make sure I have a smooth experience throughout the journey.
Eric is a highly skilled captain, very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. This made for a great experience that combined learning interesting facts about the city and the harbor as well as some time to chill and have fun! Would definitely recommend Eric!

Thank you! The sail was exceptional, Eric shared with us his passion for the city and the boat. Not only is the boat beautiful, there is absolutely everything to have a great time. Eric was very attentive, and communication was smooth before the sail. Highly recommend!
Our family of five had a beautiful sunset sail with Captain Eric. He is knowledgeable about the area and also just a nice person to chat with. We enjoyed sitting out in the front of the boat and captured so many gorgeous photos!
My charter company is the manifestation of my passion to share sailing with others. It all started before I was born. My mom and dad lived on a sailboat for the first 6 years of their marriage and named her the Genesis because it was the beginning of their love for one another, as well as our family together.I grew up sailing the Genesis with my family until I was 18, which was when we had to sell her due to my father's passing. When I was 24, I bought my own sailboat, a fun Catalina 25, to get back on the water. I sailed that for 6 seasons and after sailing hundreds of my friends, realized I should be sharing my passion on a permanent basis. That's when I decided to start my charter company. I now sail one of the most beautiful ocean cruising sailboats ever built, the Tayana 37, and take people sailing for a living. The Tayana 37 a classic, stable beauty, respectful of yesteryear. And she's aptly named the Genesis to honor my parents, my siblings, and my new beginning.

Frequently Asked Questions What happens if it rains? I never force my customers to sail in the rain but if you still do want to sail, I have a cabin and a bimini to take cover under so you’ll remain dry. If you decide not to sail (the chance of rain must be greater than 40% that lasts for more than 30 minutes), we can try to reschedule and if we can’t find a date that works, I will give a full refund. I also don’t force people to sail when the temperature is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I will call the sail off if there is a strong threat of lightning or winds are in excessive (as determined by me). We must wait until the day of the charter (at least two hours prior to the start of the charter) to make the final decision on weather so we can interpret radar projections. Sometimes the chance of rain might be greater than 40% but radar clearly shows rain passing miles north or miles south from the area we sail, allowing us to charter in dry conditions. The closer to the start of the charter that we can wait, the more accurate the forecast will be. What is the typical route? Each sail is customizable but a typical 4 hour sail includes sailing down the Hudson River from Chelsea Piers (passing Lower Manhattan) to get as close to the Statue of Liberty as possible. From there, we sail around Governors Island and underneath the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges on the East River before returning. Is there a bathroom aboard? Yes. What does the charter come with? Bottled waters, sodas, ice, cups, plates, cutlery, napkins, etc. You are more than welcomed to bring food aboard. Can I bring alcohol? Yes, but I don’t provide alcohol. I have the appropriate bottle openers and nice plastic wine glasses and plastic champagne flutes on board. Will I get seasick? My sailboat has a full keel which makes her more stable than most boats. However, all boats rock. I suggest that you take a motion sickness pill before boarding the boat if you are afraid of getting seasick as the pill takes time to work. Do you allow children aboard? Of course! I’ve been sailing since in my mother’s womb so it would be hypocritical of me to not allow children aboard the Genesis! Children under 12 years of age are required to wear a life jacket, which I provide. Do you have a refrigerator? Yes, but it’s not a full sized refrigerator like you would find in a home. It’s large enough to hold drinks for a charter. Do you have a stereo? - Yes and I have bluetooth speakers as well. I have an auxiliary cord that you can use to plug into the stereo to play music from your phone. You can also bring your charging cord to plug into the stereo’s USB port to keep your phone charged. Do you have Wi-Fi? No but phones do get reception out on the water.
